New Art: Rudolph

Here it is.

The winter of my 34th year.

And, I am realizing that I haven’t drawn one of my most favorite holiday characters - Rudolph!

I wanted to take on the story where Rudolph’s bright nose guides him through a winter storm. In this illustration, Rudolph is still in his youth, prancing through a storm on his little hooves with no fear. Big, blue eyes, and the patterns on his coat are my favorite details. It took around 7+ hours to create the snow and rosemaling pattern that makes up his white coat. If you look closely, you will find snowflakes and the echo of Norwegian rosemaling.

I hope you like him! Even though the holiday season has passed, you will find greeting cards of Rudolph in my Etsy shop. They are available in the regular size and in my new mini-size. As always, they will come with an assorted color envelope and will be blank on the inside. Choose a single card or larger packs, as needed.

Happy Holidays!!!

xxx, Kristin
