On this Snowy Day

It’s the first snow of winter. Outside, that pure white blanket hides the dirt and grime of the city - if only until the next car drives past.

I love the first snow. The stillness it creates. It seems to slow the world and makes neighborhoods feel closer. It’s the best feeling, knowing the holiday season will be here soon. It has always been a special time for our family. Gathering over warm food, glasses of wine, and snuggling under cozy blankets. As I type this, James is decorating our home, escalating the fuzzy feelings that Santa is on his way. I don’t think it’s by chance that some of my favorite illustrations have been created during this time.

Today has been a big one for the business!

It has taken over a month, but today I made the final move to host my website on Squarespace - shifting my domain. Within the next 24 hours, this website will be the focus of my new look and my new digital tool to connect with you! I sincerely hope you like it.

It’s a huge move! I loved my website. It had been simple, clean, and easy to maintain. That has been my goal for the longest time. I felt like I had finally achieved it through Wix. However, as I mentioned in my last update, they made changes which forced me to really decide where I see the future of Kristin Bergene Creative LLC.

With that door metaphorically creaking open, I decided to swing it wide.

Ready or not, it’s time for the next step. Why?

  • Eventually I can add a shop that is connected to my Square Inventory!

  • The feel of it is deliciously modern - and the structured design keeps me in check.

  • This space for updates will be a great way to share new art, general info (like sharing how I do, what I do) and upcoming events.

It has been a huge project. I’ve spent plenty of hours in Canva creating new designs, and watermarking my illustrations. I wanted to have a bigger gallery selection to show a wider range of my work. I’ve also spent hours going though each page of this website, thinking about the look and the logistics. I've compared it to my last website, ensuring none of the quality has been lost in this decision to shift platforms. Hours, and hours have led to this point!

I am pretty pumped with the results.

Next up! I have to figure out how to send newsletter through Google Suite’s Workplace.

If you have any advice, let me know!

xxx, Kristin
