Whoops…

I had been so good at these updates!

Life is certainly filled with highs and lows. Like many, the winter months are always harder for me. I am a solar-charged being and my energy slowly drains away through February and March. Sometimes, I think about moving somewhere that has more sunshine throughout the year, but I do not want to move away from my family, and I actually do love New York. Our summers and autumns are gorgeous, and for the most part, I can accept the trade-off for these grey days. It’s just being patient with myself while I am more low energy.

During the dark months of winter, I pick a singular priority. Luckily, I don’t have to spend much time deliberating that choice as it is my busiest season at work. To ensure that all students are set up to graduate on time - while taking full advantage of being college students, they have mandatory meetings with their advisor (me). Every day starting in late January, I am meeting with 8 to 10 students to discuss their plan of study (semester by semester). It only ends once they finish registering, which is typically at the end of March. A solid two-and-a-half months that are dedicated to graduation requirements.

I have dreams about graduation requirements.

However, that busy season has just ended!

Now, I can reclaim the balance between the work (which I enjoy) and my art.

Make sure you head outside today!

xxx, Kristin
